Purpose of the grant: Provide quick, robust and ´fit for purpose´ technical subsidies for CSOs working on energy issues, combined with communication and campaign strategies. The project will lead to more effective political advocacy by CSOs and the impact will be a better alignment of key decisions to be taken in 2020-2021 on regulatory energy frameworks with the decarbonisation of the economy.

Center for Climate Crime Analysis (CCCA)
Duration: 7 months
Portfolio: Climate Policy and Outreach
Purpose of the grant: To fight deforestation in the Amazon by creating disincentives for unsustainable practices in global commodity supply chains. The project entails investigations and the preparation of reports to authorities with powers to hold those responsible for climatic and environmental damage legally or economically liable.

Purpose of the grant: To improve the capacity of independent agencies, civil society and public and private decision makers for the incorporation of the climate component into environmental licensing procedures of infrastructure projects. The project will build arguments to support the legal obligation to assess, mitigate and redress climate impacts during the environmental licensing process.

Purpose of the grant: To consolidate and publicize the Micromobilty and Ebus platforms, which presents the potential reduction of CO2 and the expansion of these markets. Purpose of the grant: Leverage R$ 30 million in private investments, of which R$ 15 million through the (i) Priority Program for Bioeconomics (PPBio) in the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM), and R$ 15 million through the (ii) Acceleration Program of the Partners for the Amazon Platform (PPA).

Portfolio: Low Carbon Economy
Purpose of the grant: The initiative will launch the debate on the reconstruction of the Brazilian economy after the Covid-19 crisis. Bring together Finance Ministers and economic policy makers, launch a document signed by the Ministers and release it on a press conference. The launch with the Ministers will activate the economic press, bring economists, policy makers, decision makers and academic circles to update the Brazilian development perspectives, aligning it to secular global economic decarbonization trend.
