Amazon region in the face of the pandemic

New features will be created to support the advocacy work of civil society organisations and increase OLB's audience with them and the press.

Duration: 10 months
Portfolio: Energy
Purpose of the grant: To include energy efficiency in industrial policy and productive efficiency in energy policy. The main strategies are: Support ANEEL and EPE in defining economic indicators for energy policy; Technical inputs to the energy efficiency auction; Strategic communication and engagement of the National Congress on the need to integrate productive efficiency in the Tax Reform.

Instituto do Homem e Meio Ambiente da Amazônia (Imazon)
Duration: 12 months
Portfolio: Climate Policy and Outreach
Purpose of the grant: To improve civil actions against deforestation, through the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the 'Amazônia Protege' Program of the Federal Prosecutors Office (MPF). It comprises approximately 3,000 lawsuits. The study is intended to improve the effectiveness of lawsuits against deforestation and generate learning for the MPF and civil society.

Duration: 12 months
Portfolio: Land Use and Food Systems
Purpose of the grant: Support the most important a network of actors from private sector, civil society and academia on issues related to land use/agriculture, illegal activities, and financing. The project will support organizational development strengthening and  political articulation.  For 2020, the network will prioritize advocacy actions to stop political initiatives that can lead to deforestation in the Amazon.
