Green review of tax reform
 
A group of 12 civil society organizations and networks - including iCS and some of its grantees - launched the “Está Faltando Verde” [Lacking Green] movement, with the presentation of nine proposals that seek to improve the texts under discussion at the Temporary Joint Commission of Tax Reform. They are viable proposals and adhere to the principles of simplicity, progressiveness and arbitrary neutrality, converging with the Paris Agreement. Learn more here!

The project will map what are the specific opportunities and will engage financial institutions that are strategic in the field.

Projeto Hospitais Saudáveis
Duration: 8 months

Purpose of the grant: To support health institutions in designing a purchase mechanism based on energy efficiency and low global warming potential (GWP) criteria. To accomplish this goal, the project will map air conditioner use in this sector, as well work with key institutions in a sustainable purchase program and engage the sector to increase its responsibility toward a low carbon economy.

Purpose of the grant: To articulate and engage the climate field on electoral advocacy. It is also foreseen support to propose a better text to the National Air Quality Policy and; the resumption of bus fleet renewal in São Paulo in accordance with the local Climate Law. In order to achieve these objectives, the project will primarily develop campaigns and public opinion surveys.

Conectas Direitos Humanos

Purpose of the grant: To require public and private actors to adopt public and corporate policies in line with the goals of the Brazilian NDC in the Paris Agreement and with universal human rights standards. The project will insert the climate component into Conectas' legal activities and will assist in the diversification of climate actors, mechanisms and themes treated from a legal perspective.

Purpose of the grant: To provide an overview of the main environmental topics that are covered by the key media outlets of 16 municipalities in the Amazon region.
